We highly recommend Longshore Services for refinishing wood floors. They refinished the hardwood floors at our 100 year old beach house. It had sand and water soaked indoor/outdoor carpet on top of the original maple hardwood floors. The padding was glued to the wood. Chris removed all the black rubber padding and glue and brought those old floors back to life.
Living one block from the beach, you can imagine all the corrosive sand that gets into the house. We don’t have area rugs because of all the sand. Chris refinished the floors five years ago and the floors still look brand new and are a dream to sweep clean. We highly recommend Chris’ service.

Hardwood Floor Refinishing
Hardwood floors are both beautiful and durable. A hardwood floor enhances almost any type of room décor and adds value to your home. When properly maintained, your hardwood floors can last forever. Proper maintenance includes regular sweeping and cleaning with a proper hardwood cleaning solution, and periodic refinishing. Refinishing hardwood is not something that you should attempt on your own. We strongly recommend hiring an experienced professional to refinish your hardwood floor. Even a small mistake can be costly and cause permanent damage.
If your floor is in pretty good shape, but is beginning to look
a little dull due to surface abrasions, we may be able to
buff the surface and apply one coat of polyurethane.
If the hardwood floor is older and needs a little more
TLC, we will sand it all the way down to the wood and
apply three coats of polyurethane. Depending on your
needs and budget, we are happy to refinish your
hardwood floor with traditional polyurethane, or a
water-based coating. Periodic hardwood refinishing
will bring back the original beauty of your floor, and
will protect your investment.
